| Character Template__________________________________________________________________________________ Name: -?-, Arashi Age: 50 Village: Takigakure Rank: Tokubetsu Jounin, retired Appearance: Long grey hair that commonly has a very bed-ready style which is hardly unique to Arashi is neatly fitted to his scalp. It reaches slightly further than his neck and in the right light streams of a white are visible. The hair itself appears to be somewhat twirled at times, but that might come from the bed-ready style it simply has and that remains completely unattended for by the owner of that hair. The face seems too young for the age the Shinobi has as it is hardly scarred with wrinkles or, well scars as one would easily think. The skin is rather smooth and the eyes are glowing with a deep resolution for convenience, apparently unfazed by the years of hardships the Shinobi was granted. The eyes have a brown color and the skin type of the Shinobi is classically white, though he appears to have a japanese genes mixed into his gen pool as his eyes do have a somewhat slit-like assumption to them. As expected the Shinobi of 68 years is still in good shape, though far from his prime and in turn his muscles – if also because of age – have degenerated somewhat and lost the perfect definition they once had not going extinct, but merely having been smothered and reshaped to fit a more convenient life where walks are the everyday exercise. Unlike his face, that is free of scars, his body has faced quite an ordeal and in turn carries the signs of battles past quite visible. That is, if the retired Shinobi was not wearing clothes. To be specific, he is wearing a white vest of a traditional style which is held together through the use of a white band. Along comes of course a white pair of pants that nicely fit the aged man and additionally he wears a sort of armor-like vest which is just woven slightly thicker than usual clothes would be and has a leather frame to allow others to assume that he was indeed wearing an armor while honestly spoken it was just a matter of trickery. Terrifically fitting is also the long white scarf that neatly fits around his neck and ever so often happens to slap around if the wind wanted it to do so. Personality: While in his younger days, the Shinobi was quite the character he has now turned into a mild person. Being young, one easily risks their life, one’s temper is constantly going off like a bomb without a clock and it is impossible to plan with such a person and that was exactly the way Arashi was in his younger days. He was the kind of person that one hated to work with, being incalculable and constantly seeking the next thrill, the next big fight and the next strong enemy. He was the kind of person that would hone their skills in the middle of a battlefield, just because there was a bit of time before the next assault and in turn easily risked his life and the lives of his comrades and minions if it was necessary for him to have a marvellously extended fight against a superior enemy. Honestly, it was a miracle that the man did not simply die the first time he was sent to the front of war. Having aged and being asked to retired, he eventually changed his personality. The anxiety to throw fists and the necessity which he felt to be THE soldier for his village was simply locked away by him. Nowadays he is a calm person with a soothing personality and quite contrary to his younger days, he seems more likely to talk about the weather and whatever other small talk crap now than grinning so harshly before engaging in a frenzy. Arashi’s personality has changed to the point where he is simply happy that he is allowed to still go for a walk and still able to do so without requiring the help of anybody. He enjoys company even if it is that of young’uns. He feels sympathy if somebody loses a loved one and he feels anger at enemies. He feels saddened if faced by the cruel truth that he is one of the few that actually managed to survive so long in the Shinobi world and he feels saddened, yet also relieved when faced with all the skills he has forgotten and lost due to retiring. Those are more emotions than Arashi was ever able to in all his younger days and in turn, he is now a quite good fellow to be around. Naturally, not all is good and games with the retired Shinobi. Due to his state of being retired and even more so because of having dulled a lot in his abilities and capabilities, he is very hesitant towards leaving the safer inside of the village and exposing himself to possible olden dangers, such as previous enemies that could lurk at any point. However, unlike it may be assumed now, it does not mean that he won't leave the village at all or only hide in shadows - quite contrary, he actually exposes himself quite easily, but he is simply very weary about the people he meets. Additionally he sometimes likes to trick people, telling them things along the lines of that he is now a high-ranking secret advisor for the Takikage and in the next moment he would simply try to freak people out by acting the part of a mentally quite insane old hermit. The small things bring joy to his life. One thing that should be added is that he naturally has a great sense of loyality towards his village despite himself being completely useless in terms of protecting it. The most he could do would be to direct the forces of the village and that's pretty much it. After all, because of his own disability he is nowhere quick enough to evacuate even himself, not even to speak of evacuating others. Such a thing saddens him, of course. Story: Having been born fifty years ago in a time when Humanity was possibly even closer to extinction than nowadays, when wars were at least as present as today, if not more present and when retiring was only possible through the medium of a coffin, the young brown haired boy had been aspiring to become a Shinobi from the first time he had consciously set eyes on the most classical shinobi weapon ever – the kunai. His father was an average Chuunin at the time while his mother did not come from a family of Ninja, but rather from a family of tea house owners – in turn she was really good with making tea and really knew her way around that area of expertise. The childhood of the young boy was unspectacular without a doubt, the only thing that ever really happened that he was attacked by a wild boar at the age of five years, shortly before becoming accepted into the Shinobi academy and just by a hair’s breath was able to escape and the spectacular thing there was that he escaped by climbing up a tree, running up a tree by imbuing his shoes’ soles with chakra – the most typical training method for young ninja in terms of chakra control. Eventually in the Ninja Academy a teacher of Arashi noticed how the young boy was very capable in terms of chakra control, almost as if he had inherited it. The consequence of this gift for the young boy was that he had no trouble whatsoever in the chakra-heavy ninja studies. Genjutsu was almost like a second nature to him, only topped by his prowess in the Ninjutsu area. He appeared to be a natural in those areas of expertise and could even impress a few Chuunin with his chakra molding abilities. In the area of Weaponry he was only mildly talented though, just so managing to be graded as average while in Taijutsu he was definitely average and simply nothing special. Such did not stop him from graduating at the top of his class though and only a year later becoming a Chuunin already. The year as a genin under the guidance of the person who would later become ANBU leader was unspectacular with routine missions and boring tasks, but with a few exceptions. One time the Genin squad was permitted to accompany the Hokage at the time to a ‘diplomatic’ meeting as it was called. Despite having the foresight to know that such a meeting never ends without bloodshed, the Hokage fully knew that he could use the Genin Squad as a deviation for those who should be diplomatically treated. Everything played out quite like the Hokage had anticipated, he knew that the enemy would attempt to use the Genin as hostages to threaten the Hokage into submitting, but contrary to the ideas of the enemy – who happened to be non-shinobi amongst Shinobi that, if they lived in Takigakure, could never exceed the rank of Chuunin – the three Genin were able to overwhelm their kidnappers through teamwork. Perhaps there might be the question as to why the Hokage would even bother himself with such inferior Shinobi? The problem were their numbers as oftentimes Shinobi who could not take the truth of their lack of talent left their original villages and banded together with mercenaries and the like. The Chuunin exams went by pretty quickly. First test was a written exam that posed no problem to anyone at all, only 5% failed – zero failures from Takigakure. Second test was a survival and tactics ‘simulation’. Of the 238 participants of the second round only 58 died, Takigakure lost three Genin. The last and final round was a strategy test. Banded together into battle royal-styled fights a group of Genin from a single village were faced with an unknown terrain which had been created specifically by the higher-ups and an unknown number of enemies of unknown rank. While there were always multiple teams from different villages, there were also teams of Chuunin and even Jounin that had been thrown amongst the Genin at the start of the Chuunin exams and in this round they were allowed to go on a moderate rampage so that the Wannabe-Chuunin were faced with quite the challenge. Eventually Arashi’s team was on. They had been stocked up from a genin squad of three people to a squad of eight. Too large and too sudden for any specific strategy, too small to be able to overcome the enemies by numbers – especially since the other teams had a similar number, depending on how many of them managed to get to the third round. Arashi took it upon himself to formulate a strategy on which the team agreed and it played out quite well, until a Chuunin made it’s appearance. The sudden opponent who was not only superior in terms of technique, but also in terms of experience, was … exciting for the young Arashi. He wanted to win and after a long and excitingly tiring battle, the Chuunin was defeated by the single winner of that battle, Arashi. How did he do it? He sacrificed his comrades if need was. Constantly changing the strategy left the comrades of Arashi confused and wavering in their determination to continue, only Arashi was able to keep everything in mind and as such always knew when he was able to strike. The Chuunin-ranked enemy was cold and relentless, a trait which Arashi eventually would copy later on in his life. Finally after an hour in which most of Arashi’s comrades had been wiped out, the Chuunin dropped his guard completely for a moment in that moment, the young boy started his final attack. Secretly and hideous using a combination of Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, along with bomb tags that blew the lights of the Chuunin out quite marvellously. Of course, he was promoted. His life progressed in much the same fashion. He was sent on hard and tougher missions as he grew older and at age 15 was promoted to Jounin rank right away. Because of his merits, he was allowed this benefit amongst others and was granted much harder missions right away. Eventually he would work for a long time in the ANBU, under his old sensei. One could openly agree that Arashi made quite the career and had quite the battles. Due to the missions he was granted he eventually developed his old character and became this battle hungry wolf that had no need for his comrades. He fought strong enemies on his own, or by sacrificing his comrades. He would always come out on top and declare victory for Takigakure and only once was he faced with an enemy that was more than just a battalion of highly trained soldiers – he was faced with a renegade Uchiha who had been marked as S-ranked criminal. Usually to fight someone of such calibre, which just happened to be Kage-calibre, one requires quite the skill, skill that even Arashi did not possess. It was still too early for him as he was only twenty-five years old and he was still shy of his full potential having been unlocked. The battle was over in a swift way. The Uchiha used the full wrath of the Sharingan and the extreme Ninjutsu skills left the young Takigakure Shinobi at an earth-shattering disadvantage. He was unable to win. No matter what he did, he could not land a single hit. It was the darkest day for Arashi. The wounds which he took back home decreased his fighting ability a lot, leaving him at not even half his previous capabilities. He was degraded to a special Jounin and was sent on less harsh missions. Of course, he was still in full action, but his right leg had taken extreme damage and as such his taijutsu skills were not even average anymore. He had trouble to keep his balance and as such went from the front row to the second row, becoming more of a support troop due to his capabilities in Nin- and genjutsu and the abilities in Fuinjutsu which he developed later on. Of course, he did not take that quite so well and became rather bitter. He wanted to be at the front again. Fight with full potential and eventually developed a genjutsu which granted him the ability to fight at his full power again. The genjutsu betrayed his senses and affected him psychologically. He had no more fear before anyone, he felt no more pain, in general his senses were dulled. Friend or foe was no longer any trouble for him. He had no more values and his virtue was the absolute domination on the battlefield. He was lucky that he had been put into the ANBU again because this permitted him to be just as described. Solo missions, no comrades to kill, only enemies, only assassinations or enemy suppression assaults. Had he died then there would have been no problem and thanks to being an ANBU his deeds on the battlefield were never uncovered. Otherwise he would have been sentenced to death. He had developed the Jutsu at age thirty-three by the way and had been using it for well over fifteen years until he was faced with the end. His leg finally became numb. Even the jutsu that so easily affected his senses could not override it because the nerves and chakra tunnels in his right leg were simply destroyed. It was completely numb and the consequence was obvious. He would have to retire and was sent into that state of the old Shinobi that somehow survived with honors – which if we are honest, he did not deserve at all because the reason he even became so old as a Shinobi was because he sacrificed his comrades and lied to himself to become a machinery for war, to become the absolute shinobi that follows orders without a single thought about what could go wrong. Other Information____________________________________________________________________________________ Family/Siblings: None Morals: Fighting is a no-go for him. He has no more the ability or the will to fight and prefers to leave such things to the younger people. He has no problem at all with battle and war, it was his life after all, but he feels extreme anger when young people are sent on missions that are no more than suicide missions and the young ones are too stupid to even realize. Values: His village is the most important thing for him and in his retired time he has come to realize that the young’uns of the village are also it’s future, not the Hokage or Jounin, but the next generation will move the village forward. Boundaries: Physically, his body is his boundary to fighting, but also psychologically he has no more reason to do battle and even under the harshest situation he would be unable to do so. Motto: A walk in the park, is quite tiring being somewhat disabled. Likes: Going for walks, good food, good booze, good company Dislikes: Being called an old, unskilled fart (or anything along the lines of such), being unable to go on a walk, the pain his right leg feels on extremely rainy days, young shinobi who are just like him in his prime. Specialty/Skills_______________________________________________________________________________ Specialty: Ninjutsu – Mastered; Genjutsu Speciality Skills: + 8 Skill Points, unused until further notice Bloodline and Jutsu information:_______________________________________________________________________________ Bloodline: None Starting Element: Lightning Roleplay Sample (Optional for genin):- Spoiler:
The eternal rain within this country was far more than persistent – It was almost as if it was trying to ‘cloud’ Arashi’s mindset. Since he had last trained at all, most of his chakra got back and he had reached a stable chakra level again. ”This power… it is quite something… Maybe even too much for me… Ah – I won’t know until the climax of my might has been reached… After all I still have a little more time…Now let’s see. The first stage allowed me to direct my chakra at the earth, which is nothing unusual by itself or even very difficult for someone with my level of skill. What came with that chakra flow was highly bizarre though. It was the possibility to cause a quake and break the earth open with my chakra… Even if I never wasted time on extending the diameter out to it’s full space… It was a gift. Now at this point of advancement I am incapable of utilizing the first stage’s ability. However, it was only exchanged for a more direct way of attacking. The second stage permits my chakra to go off inside of me… The danger of this advanced usage of quakes is most obvious – At any point in battle the usage of those abilities could easily render my limbs useless. This would then be called an internal wound. Now… Going by this way could be more direct than the touch of the opponent’s flesh? Maybe…! No… That’d be just too great… But I will see soon enough… I can feel my blood starting to boil once more, but far more furiously than the last time… Than the last time I advanced.”
The man was drenched in the everlasting rain. It was a phenomenon that the sky was able to let go of that much water and still have enough for other countries. I must focus now…. Don’t let myself be disturbed…. Any disturbance could disrupt my chakra flow…. Which could end deadly for me at this point. The criminal began to chant his usual incantation in order to let his chakra reach the highest possible level. Of course, that way of training could cause him to be found by any bypassing shinobi – They aren’t as dumb as Arashi would like them to be. After all if they all were as retarded as this S-ranked criminal wanted them to be then there would be nothing which would hold him back from slaughtering all the inhabitants of this world. Truly a misfortune. Anyway, slowly the outlaws chakra began to split the rain droplets which would fall onto his head normally. This was not yet the full extend, of his powers though. They energy let out by him was soon great enough to dry his clothes, which wasn’t as abnormal as it may sound. After all the wind elemental was omnipresent in that man’s chakra and it took more focus than none to split non-elemental and elemental chakra while just letting it all pour out. Then within the fraction of a second all of the floating chakra raced back inside of the criminal. The fatality this could cause was just ridiculously big. Possible outcomes would be that the chakra channels could rip if too much chakra flashed through them at once; The body could detect the incoming chakra and see it as outer influence, creating counter-chakra and beginning to fight that chakra, draining the owner of the chakra of more than almost all chakra. Only those two reasons would be enough for most Ninja to not even attempt this method of training, but it was that fear of the ‘impossible’ which lured Arashi into only using this way of training.
The sky did not want to let the sun become dominant over the epical horizon. It was partially sad that the inhabitants of this country were unable to see the sun for days, weeks, months, years even. If they were even able to feel any sorrow because of the rain.. if it may not even be inverted for them – feeling sad when the sun shines. This manner of thinking was just about perfectly suited for the Shindoo when he is sitting at a fire place again, drowning in thought. The chakra aura surrounding the S-ranked outlaw was not growing any bigger, now it was time to accept it back into his body. Within the grasp of a second all the chakra closed in on the nuke-nin. An enormous amount of strain was channeled onto him, into him. He would scream from the pain and hopefully noone heard as the true training begins now. Now to see if this mutation can actually still grow… Arashi began to focus on the flow of his chakra. It was a calm, natural pace in which it was flowing through his body. He analyzed these movements for a little while, for longer than he actually would have needed, as he had figured it out soon enough. The interest this form of energy – chakra – awoke in Arashi, it was hard to put into words. After all, even with the daily use the exact way as to why this all works was still not scientifically proven, which for some is a problem to fulfill their duty as Shinobi… the Shindoo was never such a Ninja though, he was a merciless Misanthrope, all his life and he will be for all his life.
It was certain that he would notice the change he had gone through only days ago. At that time when he first mutated anew. Almost like an ever evolving organism he wasn’t growing but actually going further away from his origins and slowly evolution would cause revolution within this body of his as all that reminds of his days as Arashi Shindoo, a mere Kumogakure-nin in the past who had slain countless men in an enraged state of mind, is the genetic code carved into the every cell of his body and every cell reproduces this chemical fusion of four bases that is held together by a double helix-shaped frame. The S-ranked missing nin… How long until he finally achieved what he had been longing for all those years – the total obliteration of Kumogakure. It was the goal he set himself when he left that ‘home’ of his, where he was shunned and his name was forgotten. ”Maybe by now they made a tale out of me… A myth they tell their kids as long as they’re still young and believe in such stories… ‘Don’t talk back at your parents or the Slayer will come and get you’ Haha. Truly ridiculous…” That slow release of his emotions was what would be the final catalyst for this man’s evolution. The steady letting go of all poetic wishy-washy and the sudden outburst of anger, the admittance of the agony he had been forced to go through, the sorrow he had been suppressing all those years. The maturing of his personality and even more the maturing of his powers. As his chakra was flowing through the Outlaw’s body he noticed the change… A power he had not felt before was slowly growing – maturing – taking over and that at a speed only matched by the striking of lightning. A second and it was all over already – at least it would seem as if it was for a few moments…
Panting Arashi opened his eyes. It had begun the final process inscribed into his genes. Sweat began rolling down his forehead, the sides of his face. Slowly he was drenched in his most natural body fluid and even the rain wasn’t able to wash it off. Almost as if the sweat was infused with something else, something that neglected all physic and chemic truths and forced it’s own laws onto reality CHAKRA! That it was. The sweat was a form of cleansing the Shindoo’s body. A sheer limitless amount of that form of energy was being released as the nuke-nin got up to his feet. He could suddenly hear the rain as clearly as never before, he was able to notice the smallest insect crawling in these outskirts being hit by raindrops. It was as if he had been born anew, but the transformation was still far from over. ”Even if I can feel this new power… It’s still far from complete… It’s as if it was wishing for a medium… Some way of ‘speaking’ it’s words and letting it’s power roam free, but still controlled…” It was then that his hands were chosen. Those body parts, had drenched a lot of soil in the disgusting smell of blood and now they would become the valve to tear down the slightly cracked wall of limits set up before this man. He wouldn’t take a break now. He COULDN’T take a break now. As if his hands were acting on their own the chakra meddling into them began to shine brightly, at least from what Arashi could feel. He wasn’t even able to see what was happening with his hands internally, only externally he could observe the process – which is almost as helpful as looking at a closed boxed and asking it what is inside of it. What was happening with this man?
Well, that’s not quite that hard. The mutation he embodies is now undergoing it’s final evolution. He will rise to the second highest point he can reach… If he would then also waist time on dedicating himself to proper training he would possibly truly become one of the most powerful in this world and everyone would love to see him on his side… Oh well, not like the later would happen either way. What mattered now was what Arashi was able to observe around his hands. The rain that was supposed to hit them, it seemed as if it was divided into it’s chemical components. The Shindoo had never seen anything like that before. Suddenly the rain around his whole body began to disperse and cease existing. ”Just… What IS this power?!” It was hard to understand, even for someone like this nuke-nin. He then decided that it would be best to shift his focus from sight to hearing. After all, trying all senses he has at hand would eventually lead him to a conclusion and hearing was the second most important sense to a human. It was then that Arashi finally noticed what was happening. He was able to hear a very quiet humming, so to say. Almost as if every passing moment something was broken, something like a small explosion was set off – Sonic booms… Wait. What?! Was this the final stage of his kekkai genkai, if one could call his powers that? Causing chakra to break down the sonic wall?
To a certain extent that was right. The S-ranked Shinobi’s final achievement in the matters of genes was that he was able to somewhat distort reality with the ‘Quakes’ he could create. To explain it more thoroughly we’ll start from the bottom again. In the first stage, the Earthbound stage, Arashi was capable of focusing his chakra towards the ground and cause it to shatter. It was possible through the transmitting of chakra into the earth surrounding him. It worked quiet well, but one day he had decided to not neglect training any further and he was permitted to evolve a first time. He had entered the Personal stage. It was a short-lived, but well paid form of power. He was now not limited to standing on the earth anymore in order to cause Quakes. No, he had unwillingly traded that power in to be able to cause Quakes inside of himself in order to strengthen his punches, kicks or even his defense. Yet, the evolution was not finished. As endless as evolution potentially is, a single person can only go through that much and the human body can only change to a certain extent, one day ‘it’ – life – just has to end. Anyway as this day had progressed the Shindoo noticed the change in chakra he was undergoing. He was mutating, evolving… The best term would be ‘entering the final form of maturity’ and it was not becoming a father what that term is supposed to describe. It was that he would now be able to use the full extent of this mutation he is. The powers of this ‘form’ was to cause Quakes close to the chakra aura surrounding his hands now, and ONLY his hands. Even with this limited space this mode was lethal. The Quakes were now strong enough not to only cause a slight distortion, but to actually break through the sonic wall and thus unleash the power of a sonic boom.
Of course Arashi would need to try this power out, even if it was just to see the limits he had now. Following down that trail of thinking that man began to focus his chakra. Spicing up the already concentrated one and then he wanted to ‘fire the load’, so to say. He concentrated his chakra at the tip of his right hand’s pinky finger’s knuckle and cause a quake to exist there. Slowly it formed and distorted reality slightly, this would be able to be used to suck anything in or anything, it’s just how reality interacts with these pseudo-physical truths. Suddenly reality restored itself and the energy released in this process was expressed as a sonic boom which was already strong enough to blow away a large volume of rain drops, actually it was strong enough to eliminate those droplets and cause them to be divided into it’s contents. ”So that is this new power… What impressive usage of chakra… I think this will only drive my plans forward, but it still needs a name… Heh… Only good one I can think of… Anti-cosmic God stage.”

| Would you mind adding a hundred or so words to appearance and a couple hundred to personality? You are applying for a B-rank after all. And your age says 50, yet in your story you say you were born 68 years ago. Thank you. | |

| Added a batch of words to appearance, hoping it would sum up to a hundred.
Added a different batch of words to personality, being rather certain that it amounts to a hundred at least.
Changed the beginning of the character history, to state that the dude was indeed born fifty years prior to current times - Not OOC of course, but in game, as in IC - meaning in character -, fifty years ago. | |
