Arashi vs Gam

The two of them were in the usual stand grassy arena. To the right, was Arashi Ichiriku from the village hidden in the Mist, and on the left was a shinobi from the village hidden in the Sand. They were about 20 meters from each other, providing adequate space if either of the combatants wanted to perform long range attacks. Arashi would not speak at all, remaining silent. He wasn't here to have fun, because this battle was a matter of life or death.

To start off, Arashi would quickly weave five handseals, the ninja being so proficient in Ninjutsu, he could weave them before he was hit by a punch. Arashi aimed to perform the False Darkness Jutsu, quite possibly the deadliest jutsu in his repertoire. From his mouth, Arashi molded raiton chakra, firing an arc of quick lightning capable of piercing through rock, and as soon as he ffired it, he leapt backwards about two meters.

I don't know if he's any good in close combat. I should stay farther until I get a chance to analyze his fighting style.

Weaving four handseals, Arashi perforned the body replacement technique, linking himself with a nearby log(about a meter to his left) the size of his body. If he aere to be hit, he would be able quickly swap himself with it. Such a basic jutsu would be extremely useful if his opponent was as good at Taijutsu as he was.

This should prove amusing...

Gambaldi smiled slightly as he saw his opponent. A young shinobi from Kirigakure, who most likely had something to prove. Out of respect, Gambaldi decided to show no mercy in this bout. For he, too, had something to prove. This was to be his first battle against someone from another village. The task fell to him to represent Otogakure and himself, as a shinobi.

As he approached the starting place, that put 20 meters between the two, he made note of his surroundings. The grassy terrain with a single log was all that covered this arena. "I suppose the point is to close the distance immediately," Gambaldi assumed as he folded his arms and wait for his opponent to make his move. The signal to start came when the kiri shinobi began his series of handsigns. Gambaldi simple unfolded his arms, and weaved handsigns of his own. Seconds later an arc of lightning shot from the boys mouth, while simultaneously Gambaldi substituted with the single log, appearing to the left of his foe. He let loose a kunai, aiming for the opponents head. "Straight to business then," he said with a smirk.

Jutsu Used: Body Replacement Technique

The opponent used the simple, but ingenious Body Replacement Technique to avoid the bolt of lightning thrown his way. Next, his opponent threw a kunai that sailed through the sky, aimed at Arashi's head. But, given the distance between the two, Arashi was able to easily dodge the kunai by jumping to the left two meters.

Hm...

Closing the distance about five meters, while running, Arashi would fform about four handseals, slamming his palm against the ground, unleashing a wave of raiton chakra across the battlefield. His opponent was likely to dodge it, or risk being fried. So, utilizing this chance, Arashi would open the first gate, improving his strength and speed by five times.

The moment he saw his opponent making another move, Gambaldi moved on to his next strategy. Once the kunai was side stepped, Gambaldi dropped a smoke bomb as a means to cover his next movements. He had seen the direction of where the kiri ninja was dodging, so he had his plan ready. After a single handsign, he used body flicker so that he would appear on his opponents left, yet again, this time while he was still preparing handsigns for some other jutsu. Wasting no time upon getting into position, Gambaldi unleashed his fastest attack on his foe.

The attack itself was a quick-draw slash. The technique  was made to interrupt shinobi before they finished weaving handsigns. Gambaldi aimed to cut his opponent's left arm in half from finger tips to shoulder. With Gambaldi capitalizing on the momentum of his foes dodging and the momentum of his own attack, he felt confident this was the end. However, he knew when backed into a corner even a coward could grow brave if it meant his life depended on it. This thinking alone kept him from growing lax, he would only settle himself when the battle had truly ended.

Body Flicker Technique

Once Arashi saw his opponent throw a smoke bomb on the ground, Arashi knew that something sinister was going on. Unfortunately, due to being in the middle of a jutsu, it was quite unlikely that Arashi would be escaping out of this. The swordsman was going at an extremely fast pace, cloaked by the cloud of smoke.

Except, somehow, he was able to pull it off. Once Arashi was slashed, a log and a swirl of mist appeared in the place Arashi once was. Currently, he was a meter to the right of his opponent, and figuring he should capitalize on the opportunity, Arashi activated the first gate. The two were in close combat range, so he figured that it was time to let loose. Dropping down quickly and making his already short stature even shorter, Arashu would attempt to sweep his opponent, aiming at the middle of his legs, disrupting his footing and hopefully causing him to fall with the additional strength boost.

If that was successful, Arashi would unleash a barrage of punches aimed at his opponent's ribs and chest area.

Claiming Hit:

A spray of blood would signify the plans success. Gambaldi had stopped whatever jutsu the kiri ninja had intended to use. Now his opponent's left arm was render useless and bleeding out, due to being split in half just as Gambaldi intended. However, the fight was not over yet. Deadly as it was, Gambaldi did not underestimate the foes he crosses blades with. Continuing his assault, Gambaldi leapt backwards while tossing a kunai at his foes head as a means to distract him.

Putting 30ft between the two with just the one leap back, Gambaldi gripped his now unsheathed katana in his right hand. Without the left arm, the Kiri ninja would be left with the one option. Close quarters combat. The smirk remained as Gambaldi pointed the tip of his blade at his foe, "Come, show me more. Or do you admit defeat?"
