Site History

Long ago before the founding of the hidden villages, during an era of endless wars between mankind, Princess Kaguya Ōtsutsuki decided that it was necessary for someone to attain god-like powers in order to stop the conflicts. For this reason, she consumed the forbidden fruit from the Shinju, gaining the ability to manipulate powerful chakra and allowing her to single-handedly put an end to all the wars that plagued the lands. When Princess Kaguya gave birth to her son Hagoromo, he inherited the same type of chakra and was able to manipulate the chakra. However the Shinju's desire to reclaim its stolen power caused the tree to assume a monstrous form of what was christened the Ten-Tails.

The furious Ten-Tails rampaged throughout the lands until Kaguya's son defeated and sealed the beast within himself, making him the first jinchūriki. Her son would later teach humanity the concepts of chakra, becoming revered as the Sage of the Six Paths. However, knowing that his death would unleash the Ten-Tails back into the world to continue its rampage and reclaim the chakra that humanity now possesses, Hagoromo separated the monster's chakra from its body before using Chibaku Tensei to seal the husk in what would become the moon. From there, he used his Creation of All Things ability to divide the chakra into ten fragments that are each given a physical form and name. Some time after their creation, the young tailed beasts were told that they were all still linked to one another despite being separate entities. Hagoromo also told them that would eventually become one again, yet not as they originally were, and that one shall appear at that time to show them what true power is. Hagoromo would leave behind a tablet for his descendants, detailing the history of his struggle with the Ten-Tails. Only those who possess the Rinnegan can fully decipher the contents of the tablet, while a reader with a lesser dōjutsu can still partially interpret the information.

During his lifetime, the Sage of Six Path's created many wondrous and horrible treasures, shaping the world around him where-ever he walked. Towards the end of his life, the Sage split the chakra of the Ten-Tails into 10 different sources, each representing the various aspects he had come to know. He split 9 parts of the chakra into 9 Tailed Beasts, to guard the chakra from mankind. The 10th he sealed into the very earth itself, creating the Dragon Veins, which are flows of chakra under the very earth that give life to everything. However, things don't always go as planned, and even with sealing the 10 Tailed Body in the very moon itself, it still had one last plan to return its stolen chakra. Upon the death of the Sage of Six Paths, the 10 Tailed Moon spoke to one of Hagoromo's sons, and told him, if he used his fathers inherited powers, he could bring about his father's dream of peace and prosperity. Hagoromo's son foolishly accepted the offer, and the 10 Tailed Moon Beast took over his body, and used with limited resources it had to take over the son. Casting the Limited Tsukuyomi or Genjutsu World over the land. A perverse and tainted land that trapped everyone, however there were still cracks in the Tsukuyomi and the Tailed Beasts saw it for what it was, a thinly veiled attempt to reclaim his stolen chakra. Hagoromo's other son, along with the 9 tails, sought out to fight the Uchiha Son and the Ten Tailed Moon Beast. The other son sealed the remaining parts of the 10 Tails Malice into the Zero Tailed beast, while the 9 Tails sacrificed all its chakra to destroy the Genjutsu World. With each of the tailed beasts restoring the chakra the 10 Tails stole from the ninja of the land.

The Genjutsu World Destroyed, the 9 Tails sealed, and the 10 tails malice trapped in the 0 Tails, the land once again became peaceful. However, relic's of the Sage of Six Path and 10 Tails battle still cling to the land like a taint, Roran, Ama no Hoko and the Box of Ultimate Bliss are but a few. Who knows what horrible things still cling to the world from that great war.
