Appearance: There is an air of nobility surrounding Gambaldi, despite his humble upbringing. His posture, the way he moves, even his speaking always seem calm and composed. Just by looking at him one can assume he takes pride in himself, with body language alone. His hair is naturally straight, black, and stops shoulder length. Gambaldi always has a mysterious yet driven look in his brown eyes. This often gives people the impression that he knows more than he lets on. He is almost always frowning, mostly just out of habit rather than something being wrong with him. He stands at 5'7 and with an average build weighing 155lbs, though he does have broad shoulders that make one believe he is bulkier than he looks. Upon close inspection, one can see old scars covering his body from his time as a slave. This is the main reason why Gambaldi chooses to keep his body covered, to avoid curious inquiries about his past. He has no piercings nor does he have any tattooes.
Gambaldi's typical attire could be considered quite formal despite his humble origins. However, this is also an example of his awareness to provide a good first impression to the people he meets. He wears an all black, long sleeve robe that stops at the shin. The robe itself is tied together by a simple dark blue cloth, but is loose enough to not restrict movement. Over this, though he draps on his shoulder since he doesnt put his arms in the sleeves, is a larger robe that reaches down to Gambaldi's thigh. The robe is red with a wide purple line going along the edges. Being that this the first thing Gambaldi ever purchased with his own money, the robe holds slight sentimental value. His pants are all white and similar to jogging pants. He has both pant legs rolled up so that the length stops just above his ankle. His black shoes are typical shinobi issued footwear.
Personality: As his appearance may suggest, Gambaldi is a calm and collective individual. Being that he is the older sibling between him and brother, Hayato, he matured alot faster since it fell to him to look after his little brother. Add in the factors that lead to his time as a slave, the factors being his own mother and father, his wary nature is understandable. In terms of trust, he only does so if said individual has proven to be deserving. This leads to his take charge attitude when he feels no one else will get a task done.
Gambaldi is one who firmly believes knowledge is power. Even when he gives off a facade as if he could careless about whats going on around him, he takes mental notes of the action and behaviors of his surroundings. He is an avid fan of history and literature, which shows when he speaks. Gambaldi is the sort that learns from his mistakes as well as the mistakes of others. Though such a concept usually goes without saying, Gambaldi sees himself more as a strategist and always seeks chances to apply what he learns to life.
Despite his serious nature, Gambaldi does like to unwind. When surrounded by trusted friends, good music, and beautiful women; he can't help but partake. He is far from the shy sort, and can spark a conversation with anyone. He is, however, a bit blunt when he speaks; especially if asked questions that he deems dumb or pointless. There are some occasions where Gambaldi will put up a facade to seem more interested than, which normally means he is either sizing someone up or gathering intel.
Story: Gambaldi was born as the first child to parents whom he thought adored him. A year after, Hayato was born to this same loving family. Life was good for the boys. They held little care about the world, to them this place with there parents was a eutopia. Sadly, this would not last. Gambaldi was the one who discovered his parents true colors. He would sometimes catch them, without being caught, abusing drugs and even seeing his mother sell herself for money. Such was the harsh reality of the two boys circumstance, something Gambaldi always hid from his little brother. However, it would only get worse when the day came for them to be taken away.The parents that Gambaldi trusted with his life, being to young to know any better despite what he had seen, had sold thier two sons into slavery. Emotions ran wild as Gambaldi tried beg for help, only to his parents turn thier back on him.
The next chapter of thier life was filled hard larbor, poor food quality, sleeping on the hard ground, and daily beatings. Gambaldi, whom had vowed to protect the only true family he had left, often recieved beatings by interferring when Hayato was involved. Incidentally, they caught the attention of another slave, a man who had lost his freedom when had tried to free the slaves. He noticed that the two brothers were not broken spirited like the other slaves. This lead to the boys eventually learning from the old slave. It was he that pushed the "knowledge is power" concept on the boys.
When the time came, Gambaldi had secretly rallied the other slaves to cause a mass rebellion. During the confusion, the brothers and their mentor cut down all who stood in thier path. They made thier way to the nearest village, Otogakure, and parted ways with thier mentor. Gambaldi recalled the skills of the ninja that he had seen, and wanted that for himself. It wouldn't take long before they were able to explain thier situation to the authorities. From there the boys were given a small one home, and at the brothers request, get enrolled in the academy. After only a year, Gambaldi being 15 at the time, the two graduated and earn the right to be called shinobi. The same day he and his brother took the last name Raionhato, which meant "lionheart".
