Forest Climb [Training: Flashback]

After crossing the land bridge it wasn’t too long before Letony reached the village of forests, otherwise known as Kusagakure. There were no shinobi in this land at the time, which was also a good thing for him, it would make it much easier for him to detect people that enter unto these lands. Letony no longer needed his disguise and released the transformation jutsu on himself, so he took upon his natural dark skinned appearance. But he was still cautious so he was always keen on the things going on around him, but at this time he felt he needed a moment to get some training done. Even though he was a Jounin there was always room to improve, hone and increase his skill, even at the rudimentary level. Mizu Konowari always insisted that he performed basic training practices to keep the foundation of his prowess ripe at all times. The abundance of rather massive, and impressive trees around him gave him a great idea for his training as his eyes encompassed the ten meter space devoid of trains, and the trees all surrounding this ten meter space in the Kusagakure forest. Forming a tiger seal, as a basic means of manipulating his chakra toward the soles of his feet. Afterward he would impressively begin a twisted version of the tree climbing exercise. Yes he dashed toward his first tree, the chakra at his feet acting as an adhesive holding his body to where it would not fall off. Of course, on this first tree, which was roughly forty yards in height, he turned around swiftly with the chakra still hoisting him, turning and scaling down the tree whilst not falling. His chakra control was quite impressive, and he found this exercise gratifying as he would learn to use less chakra with his techniques. This would thus increase his overall chakra worthiness.
 
He downscaled the first tree swiftly, gravity helping as his weight was shifted downward. Even though he was in the midst of training he never let his guard down for a single moment, though it was hard maintaining concentration which was the basis of this exercise. Dashing across the ground Letony moved directly onward toward his second, and third three. His ability increasing with each passing of the ground below, he was truly improving even still. His body flowed gracefully, almost innately as he seemed to passively scale every tree until he had had enough. Slowing toward a pant on his last tree, the sunlight was fading, as it was early morning as he trained. It was now approaching the evening, and Letony required supplies for his camp that was soon to be established. There were plenty of trees around, and surely enough Letony would use his wind release to cleave them, and form string for their vine. With these things he would also use to create a fire. There was a small lake as an area for hunting fish, which would be a welcome dinner in this forest. He still had food supplies from the village as well although. Soon nightfall was upon him, and he would rest for the night before moving on toward his destination.

IT was once again morning time around dawn, Letony slowly walked casually through the Kusa forest taking time out during his travels to get some training done. He needed to find a cliff and not just any cliff a rather large cliff that he could climb. His idea was to perform the Jounin level exercise in climbing a cliff with only a single arm. The exercise was dangerous for anyone not of Jounin level, and Letony certainly was. The area of the forest Letony first meandered to do not have any cliffs, only more of the large mushroom-esque trees the place is known for. So he continued on into the forest quite curious about the happenings around him. There seemed to be many creeping creatures in this forest. Leaves cast shadows upon the ground, the trees acting as a gigantic shadow generator. Letony noted to never fight a Nara Clan member in this place. What was provided by the greenery was a canopy greater in height than the inside of most buildings as these trees were quite tall. His eyes scanned the canopy of the forest, and he spotted what looked like a cliff behind the foliage. If only he could fly damn it he thought. But he sucked it up and continued walked toward what appeared to be the cliff he needed. Smirking in satisfaction at what he thought to be what he was looking for, he approached more hastily, excited at the notion of personal gain through training. With the chakra control training he’d done with the trees, he would also apply it here and now with his palms. He would scale the cliff with a single arm twice using each arm alone. He relished the thought of skillfully scaling a construct of such mass with only a single arm twice with each arm!

So stepping from behind a curtain of trees out of the brush, he found a space with a ridge or cliff some 50 or so meters in height. It was perfect. Its sides were riddled with bumps and bruises, things which Letony would use to gain a grip with his one arm. This exercise was about discipline and mental stability, things which would aid Letony in improving his illusory arts. Such arts required precise chakra control as well as a high level of intellect for discernment. A tactical mind is what Letony had, he would even play shogi, but beware he would probably kill you if he lost. That’s just the nature of such a boy. Letony stood at the bottom of the ridge, luckily there were no stray boulders capable of falling in his direction at the time. So he began with focusing his chakra, and centering himself with concentration. He ultimately meditated prior to embarking on this daunting engagement. He wanted to bring on the best in himself, and this was positively the way to do it. He adjusted his body, his arms, legs, stretching them out so to not cause him any strain. His muscles would need time to recover later. With his preparations of stretching complete, he dashed toward the ridge, chakra at his feet to give him a boost, as with one hand as if he were dunking his hand found a crevice in the ridge. With that single arm, which was his right arm, he held tight and was capable of supporting his entire body. This was also a mental test, and a test of discipline. Not many would be able to stand the pain.

Letony’s eyes were closed as he dangled, gathering up the strength and chakra in his arm, he pushed from the initial crevice toward a second which was a short distance upward. The pain was so great, but it was also something Letony was used to. His past had been filled with it, even his ancestors. Letony however looked upward from his second dangling position, staring upward and seeking the next opportunity. Swiftly his arm tightened, and his chakra peeked at the arm followed by a significant thrust from Letony, which would send him cascading upward toward the next crevice or edge prior toward the top. The top however is definitely in sight, and in a matter of a few more crevices Letony made it to that top.
