Appearance: Kurapika is a dainty 13 year old boy standing at 4'11". His features are soft and fairy-like. He has an angular face with blonde hair that extends to his cheeks. His eyes are a deep shade of brown. His eyebrows have a near perfect arch which gives him an innocent look. Kurapika is average in body type, he doesn't work out excessively to get extremely defined, nor is he lethargic.
Kurapika typically wears clothing that sets him apart from others, some view it as weird but he enjoys his fashion sense. Whenever he is in Iwagakure he wears a white robe with a purple and gold dress-like cover. On his right hand he wears a ring around his middle finger that is connected to a wristlet by a silver chain. Kurapika walks around the village in wooden raised sandals (similar to Jiraya's).
When going on missions Kurapika wears a navy blue long-sleeve shirt, covered with two emerald should sashes. His pants are emerald green with two pockets on each side and end at his calves making them manpris. The footwear Kurapika chooses for his missions is always dependent on where he is going, if he is going somewhere hot open toed shoes; somewhere cold fur boots; somewhere with dense vegetation flexible rubber shoes.
Personality: Sly- Kurapika has a knack for disappearing, it has been something he has good at since childhood. When his parents were talking about things he wasn't supposed to know, he would find a way to sneak near them and listen in on conversations.
Manipulative- He will do almost anything to get what he wants. Lie, cheat, or kill; Kurapika has a silver tongue and will sooth-say whomever he has to in order to get what he wants. His manipulation skills aren't something to be played with, he once convinced a Chuunin it would be a good idea to raid girls panty drawer and show them off to the others in his team.
Cunning- Tying into his manipulative abilities, Kurapika will deceive someone to get what he wants. The Chuunin thought he was stealing a girls panties, but really Kurapika had a bet with the other students at the Ninja Academy. He won the bet because the Chuunin broke into one of their sensei's house and the other students became his servants for the week.
Blunt- Kurapika is very blunt when it comes to people he doesn't care for or about. If he thinks you're doing something wrong, he will let you know. If you're doing something that is getting on his nerves, he will let you know. If he wants to know something and manipulation and deception don't work, he will straight up ask you, even if it's a sensitive subject. If you think you're getting a compliment, you're most-likely wrong. A compliment from Kurapika is a rare and cherished thing, he has only complimented his mother four times in his 13 years of life.
Observant- Kurapika is extremely observant. His eyes and ears will hone in on something that looks as if it might be, even remotely, secretive. He has patience to wait things out and will follow people to find out what's going on. This has gotten him into a few troublesome situations before, but he was able to talk his way out of it by threatening the people with what he knew.
Strategic- He likes to have a plan for everything. Observing his situation and making mental notes of enemies and weaknesses is something he doesn't take lightly. When in a battle or testing situation his senses go on high alert and he processes information as necessary.
Wicked- Kurapika's moral compass sways a little to the darker side, it's not obvious but also almost plain at the same time. The combination of his manipulative and deception skills accompanied by his bluntness might not make it obvious, but there's also an odd aura about him that some people pick up on.
Story: Kurapika's parents were nomadic. The traveled wherever they pleased, after leaving Ushiogakure. They wished to see the world and did so, until Claire became pregnant. When Claire and Kii knew they were expecting a child, they decided to make the nearest major village their home, their new home was Iwagakure.
7 Months after they settled in Claire and Kii were surprised to find out they were having twins! They had decided not to learn the sex of their baby and because of this never visited a doctor to find out that they would be having more than one child. As the delivery occurred the first child was named Kurapika, and two minutes later they named the second child Gon. The new parents were overjoyed that they had a set of identical twins, they didn't realize at the time how troublesome this could be though.
As their boys aged, it was twice the dirty diapers, twice the trouble, twice the everything. Claire was a chakra specialist and worked as a researcher which is the main reason she and Kii had traveled, so she could learn about the different types of chakra and the way people amlify and manipulate it in different villages. Kii would work as a mercenary for whatever minor or major village they were near at the time, but now Claire stayed at home doing research and Kii joined the ranks of the Iwagakure ninja.
When the boys turned 4, Claire started exposing them to books and her research on chakra manipulation and control. Kurapika developed a fascination for books and the sort, while Gon preferred to watch their father develop his techniques. Kurapika would sit with is mother as she read to him about what she learned, understanding little, but soothed by his mother's voice and intrigued by what she was doing. When Kurapika nd Gon turned 6 they both joined the Ninja Academy. Because of working with his mother, Kurapika excelled at Ninjutsu training; Gon, who spent more time with their father, excelled at the Taijutsu training. Kurapika and Gon are complements of each other, where Kurapika wanted to develop Ninjutsu, Fuuinjutsu, and Sensing Gon was more inclined to Taijutsu, Weaponry, and Barriers.
As Kurapika grew older, he was able to understand what his mother was researching and began to help her. He loved learning about the Uzumaki history and learning about their specialty in seals. His mother told him that certain Uzumaki had the ability to manifest their chakra into chains that were viewed as the ultimate Uzumaki techniques, this fascinated Kurapika.
Kurapika was 8 when he realized that he wasn't all that innocent of a child, he would manipulate and lie to others to get whatever he wanted almost always without being caught. Once, he convinced a Chuunin it would be a good idea to steal panties from a 'random' house, the 'random' house turned out to be one of the sensei's from the academy. Kurapika did so because he had a bet with the students in his class that he could get a Chuunin in trouble. Kurapika lied to the random Chuunin telling him it was a beautiful woman who wore lace panties, the Chuunin fell for his convincing lie and Kurapika waited for his plan to unfurl. The Chuunin walked up the side of the building and entered through the window, their sensei was bathing when she felt the breeze from the window, and then she entered her room in a towel to find the boy rifling through her panty drawer.
Gon and Kurapika could be found at the sparring grounds when they weren't at the Ninja Academy or with their parents. They two would spar and it usually resulted in Kurapika winning. Kurapika had a calm head and analyzed the battle whereas Gon just rushed in with Taijutsu, the most crushing defeat Gon saw was when Kurapika trapped him in the Lion Closing Roar technique Clair had taught to Kurapika. Kurapika had a clone hold Gon while he wrote the seal around him, granted it wasn't the best idea, because it took Gon a long time to recover. Kurapika didn't really regret doing so though, there was no remorse, it was test of his power and showed Gon that he was more powerful than him.
Around Kurapika's 11th birthday he realized he was A-Sexual. He wasn't attracted to anyone and he was okay with that, his father was a little upset because he wanted both of their sons to carry on the family bloodline. That year Kurapika and Gon also graduated from the Ninja Academy and became Genin. Their parents hosted a large celebration for everyone in the class near the sparring grounds by the academy. It was a great time for all of the newly established Genin to enjoy each other's company outside of the ninja world.
Kurapika spent the next few years doing lower ranked missions, helping his mother research, reading in the library, developing his jutsu, and practicing with his brother.
