Yoshitsune Ren'un vs Twilight Seiker

It was sudden and otherwise unexpected. At one time he was ready to walk into the Hokage's office, and the next he was within a red sphere made of something resembling glass? From what he could see around himself, the only visible landmass was a strangely shaped cube that was an undetermined distance below him. Hmm, it was also hard to judge the size of the cube since it seemed to have no discernible references.  Looking around while taking more attention to detail... "WHAT THE SPIRITS?!?" Both the sphere and the cube were floating in the air. Some kilometre or so above the ground, at least if that mountain in the distance was the Hokage Monument it seemed to be. How the hell had he gotten up here?

A sound penetrated the sphere that currently imprisoned him. Speaking of how he had been chosen by the gods to help settle a feud between some of them, he didn't recognize their names from any of the books he had read. Allah? Iehovah? Yahweh? Hopefully his ignorance would be forgiven if he won? It would be right to say that Yoshitsune's adrenaline was pumping now, full on, and that he was pretty darned psyched to fight. He wanted to live, thank you very much, and if that meant beating or trying to beat whatever other poor sod that had been chosen as a play-tool of the gods then he would damn well try with his all.

Suddenly he was no longer in the sphere, he was in free fall. With only moments before he panicked, a calm but authoritative voice told him that he would come to no harm while descending towards the battle cube. The cube's dimensions were given, rather large at 100 meters by 100 meters per side, completely flat, and with an internal water storage lead by six identical 10 meter wide tunnels, each terminating at the centre of a side on said cube. The total volume of water was roughly half that of the cube, but otherwise the sides were a mix of rock and grass, the cube having a powerful gravitational field oriented such that each side could function as the ground. And technically it wasn't a cube, as it had more sides than six. You see, if you take a cube where each side is 102 meters by 102 meters, and then cut off the final 1 meter on each side and instead made a 45 degree angled connection between the sides, you'd get this Battle "Cube" that Yoshitsune now descended towards at a rate much slower than free fall. His opponent would be somewhere on the surface of the "cube" as the interior was something forbidden to enter, only there to give resources of water to those chosen champions who used the liquid to fight.

Luckily Yoshitsune was not one of said persons, and the moment he touched ground he set off running. Since he had not seen any other red sphere when he was suspended above the cube, his only recourse was to believe that his opponent had landed on the other side of the cube. Seeing how he had landed on the northern side which was perpendicular to the normal ground about a kilometre below the cube, he decided to run towards the "top" side, the one facing the heavens. He'd rather not deal with the confusion of fighting upside down at the moment, thank you very much.

From the moment he had touched down, Yoshitsune had been making his own set of hand seals, and at full tilt it would not take too long until he was approaching the edge between the "northern" and the "top" sides. Just long enough that the four techniques he had chosen to utilize would have their hand seal sequences done and done. With Dragon, Bird, Ram transitioning into Snake, then Boar, and then Dragon, Bird, Horse, Monkey, the young Konoha-nin used his right hand to draw his treasured tantō from it's placement at the oppositely hip-placed sheath, he kept running even as both weapon and body began to glow white with power. Letting his weapon bearing arm trail behind him slightly, hiding the weapon from most sights, he went over the transition zone, feeling how the hold of gravity shifted quickly. Nothing he could not get used to in an instant since it felt very similar to tree walking up or along vertical surfaces.

It was just as he crested the top-most side that the spheres of lightning, ten in total, crackled into being, arranging themselves like the feathers on a peacock. Hmm, maybe he needed to rename this technique? No matter, Yoshitsune was fired up and ready for combat, vigilantly checking for his opponent's location from the very moment he knew he was in for a fight, said instance happening while descending towards the cube, and onwards.

Twilight was about to enter her house and ask her parents something when suddenly her house disappeared. In fact everything disappeared, the visual, the sounds, the smells, all replaced by something different. She was in some transparent sphere which for whatever reason was red. This sudden change in environment scared the day light out of Twilight. "Holy shit!" Twilight yelled to nobody but herself while simultaneously and instinctively backing up only to run into the other side of the sphere and slip to the bottom.

Twilight was still trying to process what had just happened when she heard a voice inform her that she had been chosen to settle a disagreement or something. Twilight felt sorry for whatever side she was representing. Despite being told were she was and what she was to do she still didn't register it fully. She was also upset towards these apparently very powerful beings that they would use her as some plaything. She probably was nothing more than an insect to them. Twilight vowed to have more respect for animal life if she survived this.

Almost as soon as the voice was done speaking the sphere she was trapped in disappeared and she began falling wait....no......what...... she was rising towards the sky as fast as one would fall from the sky. Twilight began to imagine that the sky was the ground and the ground was the sky so as not to confuse her brain so much. That didn't stop her from screaming though. The voice came back and tried to tell her it was all right but Twilight didn't believe him.

Eventual Twilight's decent slowed and she began to believe what the god had told her. Landing on some rock next to a lake Twilight finally began processing what was going on. Now that she felt she was on solid ground she could pay more attention to her surroundings. There was a lake in the middle and surrounding the lake was a mix of rack and grass. It only went so far though before the ground just seemed to disappear.

Twilight wondered where her opponent was. She looked around everywhere before her gaze stopping facing north. Her opponent was nowhere in sight. Twilight decided to take this time to prepare. Twilight preformed two hand signs and coral spread over her body covering everything but her eyes and mouth. The coral was structured in such a way that Twilight could still move around freely in it. Forming some hand signs Twilight created a thin mist which wasn't difficult to see through. It would spread to the edge's of this face of the cube and hang there. If Yoshitsune touched the mist he would fall under a genjutsu which would robbed him of his senses and replace them with the senses needed to create realistic visions of tormenting times from his past.

Twilight then decided to change the scenery a bit. Since Yoshitsune wasn't here (and never saw the bottom part of the cube.) he wouldn't know what it had originally looked like. Forming the hand signs Twilight prepared the genjutsu which would be finished long before Yoshitsune got on this face of the cube(150 meters takes awhile to traverse.) The only thing Twilight changed about the environment was she placed a very thick fog which spanned this entire cube faced. One can't see more than 10 meters in this fog. As soon as Yoshitsune rounded the edge he would fall into both genjutsus and wouldn't be the wiser. Twilight then preformed more hand signs and prepared Body Replacement on a nearby large rock.

Twilight now waited for her opponent. She would have added another genjutsu in but she wan't skilled enough for more than 2 layers. As soon as Yoshitsune rounded the edge she would see him but because of the genjutsu that created the thick fog he would not see her. As well as the other genjutsu robbing him of his senses and replacing them.
