Adventures in a not so new land

Caelus didn't have much to be proud of considering the whole situation with his family and the thousands of unanswered questions left to him by his grandfather. But what he did know was that he and his partner had to go travel to the far side of the village and kill some rats. These rats were guilty of betraying their village for stupid personal reasons whether they be for greed or establishing the new world order. The genin really couldn't care less, at the end of the day he was all about maturing and advancing his skills as far as he could take them. And that journey right now was taking him down an abandoned street right into the heart of what could be considered the underbelly of Iwagakure.

"Looks like it's gonna be one mission after another. How do you wanna handle this one Augustus?"

The genin spoke softly so that only Augustus would hear him, despite being trained shinobi it was better to air on the side of caution at this point. It would be bad if their targets caught wind of their impending arrival and managed to flee before they got there. Although the chances of such an event occurring without anyone noticing were damn near nonexistent if he had to say. A few moments later the two would arrive at the entrance of the Inn but Caelus would not enter the building just yet without conversing strategy with his partner.

"How do you want to go in? Perhaps one of us goes in through the front and other takes the open window up top and cut off both routes of escape? Or we can just rush in there and kick everyone's butt and be on our holly jolly merry way. Its your choice man." His fingers tapped restlessly against his legs, his entire body was wired for combat at this point with the sole intention of going in there and cracking some skulls.

Caelus couldn't but smile at his partner as he charged into the inn and well just took charge of whole situation, as expected of someone he held in high regards. The genin followed after Augustus who proceeded to tear through the establishment in search of the evil-doers. If the people didn't hear the duo coming before there was no mistaking that they would be well aware at this point. His form stuck close to Augustus' own as he moved into the room and proceeded to incapacitate the first enemy before dragging two more out the window with him. Caelus raised an eyebrow in amusement to his partner's choice of strategy but for now this was something he could care less about.

"Partner's huh? What can ya do about em? Am I right?" His tone was rather nonchalant, yet judging by the expressions of the rest of the people in the room they were less than amused. The group did not move from their positions or even try to surround him after witnessing what the previous shinobi had done to their friends. Perhaps they weren't an entirely useless bunch but that still remained to be seen after all was said and done and the dust had settled. Caelus gripped the first sword behind him with his right hand drawing it forth from its sheathe for added measure in case they didn't know what his business was here already. It was a plain looking sword with a blue handle however, his ability with weapons was nothing to be laughed at.

The first figure to approach him was a slim woman, red-headed, fairly curved features and carrying what seemed to be a pair of throwing axes. The genin had failed to notice her behind the three other individuals given her petite size. It was a shame, that beauty of hers wasn't going to stop him from thrusting his sword down her throat and turning her into a human sized shish kebab. However, he admired her bravery for being the first to charge him in that medium sized space of theirs, not quite big enough for a whole family, but just enough room for him to comfortably move around.

As he held the sword in his right hand he would switch his grip so that the blade faced downwards whilst thrust the butt of the sword upwards. The effect was almost instantaneous, he managed to catch the woman on her jaw launching her into the air but he didn't plan to let her stay airborne for long. Caelus switched his grip on the sword that it now faced upwards in its original position before letting it drop and kicking the hilt so it stuck in the floor. In that same swift series of movements he had already grasped the women's waist firmly by her dress proceeding to impale her vertically onto his blade. If his aim was correct the blade would have impaled her somewhere in between her anus and vaginal area and lodging itself in her trachea. Caelus would grab the falling axes from the woman's now dead corpse and hurl them at a curved projectory so they swung around from both directions decapitating the man on the far right. The surprise on their faces from the utter brutality of the first kill had lead to their other comrade being murdered. And now there were two. This mission was nothing but a slaughter and thus he was willing to carry it out to its fullest requirements in loyalty to his village. His eyes darted back and forth between the two remaining people in selection of his next target, a noticeable smile already tugging at the corner's of his mouth yet there was nothing sadistic about it, just pure joy. His mind wandered to Augustus for a second in that moment wondering how his share of the mission was going.

Caelus was not the least amused that the two individuals left wanted to work together in order to perhaps maximize the outcome of their chances of surviving. Now he wasn't any good at math himself, but the genin figured any way they tried to come at him it would just end in their deaths. And since his time was rather important he didn't dare waste any more of it playing with these traitors when he could be taking the time to relax. The genin would reach forward grabbing the woman by her throat and throwing her to floor in front of him. His blade was still lodged deep within her body, but that would not be a problem for him as he simply stepped on her whilst kneeling down to grab the hilt of his sword.

The next sequence of events happened rather quickly but just for your viewing purposes I shall recap on what occurred in the brief instance it took Caelus to recover his weapon. As his fingers wrapped around the hilt of his sword the two enemies on either side of him would have lunged at him in a flanking manner. Yet they had not counted on what Caelus would do next when he ripped his sword from the corpse splashing fresh blood over the wooden floor and surrounding walls. This action did more than free his weapon because an arc of blood had been specifically aimed at the fellow to his right side with the exaggerated swing of his wrist. The fellow's hands instinctively flew to his eyes trying to clear his vision thus stopping in his tracks but his friend however took no notice of the other. It was a shame because now Caelus would pivot on the balls of his feet shifting his center of gravity as little as possible without getting up. The blade arced through the arc as nothing more than a gleam of steel before it cut through the man's head at a horizontal angle. Caelus would waste no further time and without skipping a beat stand following the movement of his sword and let it go. The sword was now a projectile heading straight for the blinded and last enemy's heart causing him to clutch at the blade foolishly before stumbling out of the open window.

The genin took the time to search the room thoroughly until he had recovered the secret documents and intel that the traitors had been planning to make off with. And with this he would take his leave out of that same open window the man had fallen out of landing in between his corpse and Ausgustus. Caelus would remove the sword and place it back into his sheathe but not before wiping it on the clothes of the dead man. Turning to Augustus, he would give him a big grin signifying the end of what he thought was a successful mission. "Doesn't get any better than schooling a couple fools that try to get a quick over on the village. We better get these documents back to the proper people and collect our reward. I think we set enough of an example here with these chumps." And with he would leave the area beside his partner Augustus whistling a little tune he learned from his mother whenever she had an especially good day.
