[Recovery] Otogakure Aburame Clan Compound

Visibility was never the issue down in the underground chambers. There were usually lit lanterns hanging above head lighting all known walking paths, but this was a different situation. Zancrow didn't know where he was; he couldn't even tell from east and west, north and south, up and down. Surrounded by large, heavily-armed dark-robed men the Aburame thought he was getting into trouble or something of the sort. Confiscated was his beehive, the poor larvae were probably freaking out that they couldn't sense their Queen directly. In truth, the beehive was only a few persons to the left, but the queen bee's low hum was enough to know she needed to feel them near-directly. Zancrow was blind as a bat in his current situation, walking along an unlit path with a black cloth tied about his head. He was hoping that the people would explain why he was being brought into such an unknown territory in the compound.

The Aburame was quietly seated in a chair in dark room lit with only seven overhead lights fixated to have the shape of a star. The cloth was removed from his head, and the first things his eyes saw was a woman. She had short-length crimson red hair that shone in the few lights present, pursed, plump lips colored the same as her hair and black eyes. Her body, from what could be seen of it, was rather curvaceous. Black latex seemed to be the material of her body suit, a zipper leaving much of her chest on full display. Who this lady was Zancrow couldn't give a rat's ass about. Where he was, why he was there, and where was his nest? Those were questions he wanted answered clearly and without hesitation. There was a table before him, and on that table were three items: a small tan piece of paper, a small vial with purple stuff in it and a set of black clothes with a pair of shades and mask atop of it all. The woman took a deep breath, and simply ordered the men out from the room.

"We're about a mile underground and in a sound-proof room," the woman said calmly with her body arched back, fixing herself in the chair.

"What does any of this have to do with me," was Zancrow's only response.

"If you stop questioning me, maybe you'll see why."

"My name is Asuka Nara." The name rang a few bells in the back of Zancrow's head, but he couldn't really put the pieces together. She was talked about a lot when Zancrow first moved into Otogakure no Sato, but now she was only but a faint memory. She stared hard into the manic Aburame's eyes, who's own stare back almost made her... uncomfortable. Of course, it was because Zancrow was smiling, and she assumed it was because of her open "assets". No, his smile was anything aside from her near-exposed breasts. She was dealing with a slightly unstable teenager with a treasure-trove of potential awaiting to be nurtured. She gave a slight sigh and looked at the tan piece of paper on the table. Zancrow looked at it, then back to her.

"Go on, pick it up."

Zancrow nodded silently and grabbed at the paper with his index and thumb. Much to his surprise, the paper became like ashes and fluttered to the ground. Zancrow retracted his arm back and looked at the woman with a confused expression. All he got back from her was a laugh, and that annoyed him somewhat. Was she playing games with him, or was there more to the madness than anticipated?

"You gonna explain why the paper turned to dust and all that?"

"That paper is actually sensitive to chakra. It determines what nature your chakra is." Asuka shifted a finger in the dust that was once the piece of paper and rubbed the material between her fingers. If Zancrow wasn't mistaken, it looked a lot more like dirt. Black dirt at that.

"So my chakra nature is earth?"

"Earth Release" to be exact." She took a scroll from her side and handed it to him. "These are some basic Earth Release techniques, learn them and use them well." Zancrow took it with care, thinking that he might turn the scroll to dust. It was all extremely new information without much explanation, but he would do his own research later. The sooner he could leave, the better.

The vial with purple stuff inside came to no real surprise in terms of its contents. How they were bred, that came as a real surprise. Nano-sized, venomous insects were treated like kinjutsu within the Aburame clan, but here they were in a small vial on the table. One touch from them could kill a man in minutes, their size enabling them to destroy the body on a cellular level. That was understood, but Asuka said they were bred on Zancrow's own chakra. He picked up the vial and held it on its side. The bugs raced towards that side of the vial, almost in a hungry-like manner. Zancrow couldn't tell if they wanted to join where the chakra they'd been feeding on was originating, or were they just hungry to devour his cells. Asuka's own body began to turn purple, at least, up to her neck.

"Go on, let them travel on your finger. If you start to get attacked we have persons with the antidote a heartbeat away." Zancrow looked at her, directly in her eyes, for a real long time. She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head, motioning for him to proceed with her instructions. The white-haired Aburame uncorked the vial and let the bugs race on his finger. He was tense, and then the insects made contact he felt prepared to die in terrible agony. However, they didn't begin viciously destroying his cells. In fact, all of the insects raced on his one index finger and disappeared, leaving pasty-colored skin behind. Zancrow laughed, pointing at his finger in excitement.

"How was that even possible, to get my chakra for them to feed on?"

"Well, it is an odd story in itself. Whenever a high amount of chakra is exerted in a specific area some chakra stays behind as residue. What's funny about that is that such exertions have only been recorded to come from Tailed Beasts, high-ranking shinobi and at some points persons with Nature Chakra." Zancrow's neon purple eyes lit up even more at the last mentioned factor. Something about Nature Chakra stuck out to him, and he probably knew the connection that made him beam. Asuka looked at him oddly, not understanding fully as to why he'd beam so randomly. She shrugged and looked at the set of clothing, the last items on the table.

Fixing on the hooded coat over his new Otogakure-edition Aburame clan uniform, Zancrow felt taller, slimmer and more... ominous? He was really unsure on how he should have felt about the new get-up. Sure, it made night missions more easy to complete, but... mostly black wasn't really cutting it for him. However, some ray of hope was made as he noticed the strange, oni-esque mask lying on the table next to the black sunglasses. He placed the glasses on, and to his surprise, he could see just as clearly as he could without glasses. Grabbing at the mask he felt a sudden tingling sensation ride up his arm and down his spine. It felt good to have it in his hand, it had a familiar vibe to it, although Zancrow couldn't quite tell for sure. He placed it to the side of his face, so that it wouldn't black his view while he wore the black sunglasses. Standing by Asuka made Zancrow realize he was tall, taller than most Genin his age. Almost six-feet, he stood nearly a foot over the much smaller Asuka.

"The higher-ups in the clan wanted you to have these items now, they need you to head up to Chuunin status soon. They have some assignments that could be completed with your credentials." Zancrow looked at the woman at her last remark and scratched his head in confusion. Opening the scroll with the Earth Release techniques he would quickly read through and memorize them before setting them down.

"Where's my hive, by the way?"

"Check under the table." Zancrow kicked it up lightly and placed it on his back. He'd have a full set of bees on his hands soon enough, for sure. For now, he had two whole-new set of bugs to play around with. With some luck, he'd just might master them. Asuka thanked him for his patience and escorted him into the general meeting hall of the Aburame compound. He left the base looking more like a person of his clan, but he was still the same manic. A fang-y grin was plastered on his face, looking up to the sky he would dash out without a trace, off to do some missions and stuff.
