| I propose members get two present topics as opposed to just one, plus we be allowed one mission topic per character keep IOOC the same. I just suggest this because with the current policies it makes it difficult to interact with characters and establish meaninful relationships or bonds with teammates and other members of the village. | |

| I feel that only a single "present" topic should be permitted due to contingency and causality; being in two places at once, potentially dying in one thread while being in another, etc., can get confusing and messy.
Flashback topics successfully circumvent this, however they're limited by the ongoing IOOC. As the event is moving slower than anticipated, with no end in sight as yet, I'd love to vote to re-enable flashback topics to allow us to continue to Rp. I find myself currently unable to write much on the site, with only one IC present topic - I'm otherwise stuck twiddling my thumbs until the event moves forwards. I understand the current reasoning in stopping flashbacks for event-characters, but for some it may be starting to stifle their experience on the site a little.

| It doesn't get messy necessarily, if you die in one thread and you finish your ongoing thread as normal doesn't that baisically become a flashback thread in a way?
I mean what if you die in a IOOC thread and have one present thread doesn't your present thread become a flashback thread in a way?
All I know is the way things are set up now is limiting RPers and causing a sort of idle period for members, plus don't you like turkey, dressing, macaroni, and mashed potatoes all on the same plate? I mean having multiple topics is optional and you necessarily don't have to do it, but for me I find it a bit limiting in how one can rp, I like flashback threads but those are meant to be fillers and you can't show a characters progress in flashbacks.

| you still live if you die in IOOC
having two present topics is a bad idea, especially when alot of killing goes on. A and B are rping. B rp's with C. A kills B and B kills C. what then?
Flashbacks can very easily show character development. It's the same as RP just a different time frame.
I like the multiple topics how they are now. Though flashbacks opening could be fun. Not that I use flashbacks much.

B has a thread already in progress with D, just finish the thread. C has just started a thread with E, just rp with character finish the thread. But these threads I'm talking about have no battle implications at all and are not death enabled. I say one battle thread at a time if it's not a mission or IOOC. The two present topics are non battle threads and are extra threads toward character development.

| Let me explain how bad this is.
You can't be in 2 present topic as logically there is no way for you to be at two places at the exact same time.
If you die in the fight topic then the person in the social present topic would be role playing with a dead person.
How can you even logically explain a person being allowed to have 2 topics that occur in the present?

| Cidolfus Demen Kirishiki do date your topics? Do you tell the time when each event happens? Or do you like everyone else just post. With no specific time frame attached to your thread but maybe sayin its spring or fall but when? Whose to say when, when we don't even have exact dates or times marked in our post.
Also damn! I understand devil's advocate, but am I the only one that sees any benefits with more multiple topics set around the present? I think it expands the roleplay experience as opposed to boxing it in or making it confusing. The naruto world doesn't logically make sense all the time, but now it's like everyone is applying logic to this concept

| See, that is the thing, you obviously don't understand the concept of present. Present is what is occurring right at this moment, there can only be one present. Future is what's not set in stone and therefore there can be many of those. Past is what happened already. You can't possibly be at multiple places at one time, it defies logic. You need to set a time line lol. If one topic occurs before the other one, then said topic is a Flashback and the one that has the latest time frame is a present topic. In other words, your concept of multiple topics already exists. Except, it is worded differently. - Quote :

Completely unrelated to the discussion at hand. Maybe you should try to explain your logic of there being multiple presents instead of making random comments like that.

| How is it unrelated to the situation at hand? It wasn't a personal attack or anything just stating that no one dates anything so how can you determine two events are happening at the sametime. Now I think you're taking me quite literal when I say at the same time my dude.
Well maybe I am confusing myself.....ppl tell me I tend to complicate things a lot lol
So answer me this question? So lets say I start one topic, boom! Balls rollin right that's topic A, I decide to start or join a new topic which is topic B, boom! Is B counted as a flashback thread then?

| What difference is a Flashback topic and what you want??
Both of them affect the present save Flashback's cant have death. Flashbacks can have character development.

| You don't need to date topics to have a consistent timeline. I mean, that is silly. The topic in which you are is present, it occurs on whatever date it is in the RP world. That's like common sense.
It really depends.
If topic A is happening before topic B, then topic A is a Flashback.
Your little suggestion is basically asking for one more flashback in which you can actually do missions. Which is like unneeded.
You can use your present topic to do missions and socialize through flashbacks.
